This sequel was incredible. I actually enjoyed it more than the first book, (both were great, though). The “quests” both physical and mental were so well done throughout the story.
The love in the book is so heartbreakingly sweet and wonderful! I love it so much! Something I really loved is Zo thinks about something that not many YA books talk about when it comes to romance: age. She actually comments on how young she is to be deciding who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Of course, she chooses to be with Gryphon (YAY!) but the fact that Jenkins had that moment made me so happy!
Both Zo and Gryphon make hard choices. Even though this world is different and I can’t completely relate to what the characters go through, I connect with them on an emotional level. A great author is able to put the reader in the place of the character, and I debated about decisions that were made and what I would have done.
Jenkins does a great job of incorporating many different characters and small plot lines that add so much depth to the entire story, while not detracting from the main plotline.
I cannot wait for the next book to come out!
