I don’t know that I’d recommend this book to anyone. Not that it was bad, but it was not at all what I expected. I’m not sure what I thought a Civil War book would be like, but I was hoping for some happiness. NOPE.

I was very intrigued by the jacket summary and the book is short so I thought I could knock it out really fast. I did because it’s a really fast read, but that means the ending just comes and smacks you that much sooner!
I think the perspective on this time period is interesting and brings new light to this historical period. I haven’t read many books based on the Civil War. After this, I don’t know that I could do another fictional one, but I don’t regret reading it. My heart just hurt for a really long time.
This was a really short review, but I don’t have much else to say about this book. Read at your own heartache.
