Hunting Prince Dracula Review: to die for

I reviewed the first book in this series here.

I really enjoy the mystery of these books. The suspense builds with every clue that the characters discover. As a reader, I can predict the plot at every turn which is something that happens to me with certain books. Overall I enjoyed the plot of this book. It didn’t interest me as much as Stalking Jack the Ripper.

However, my favorite part was Audrey Rose and Thomas’s relationship development. I loved Thomas in the first book. He’s honestly why I read this book cause I love him so much. I really enjoy him as a character and his interaction with Audrey. Audrey also really grew as a character regarding him and I really appreciated that and how Maniscalo dealt with them in this book. I don’t want to give anything away, but that was my favorite part of this book.

This is my favorite quote from the book!

“I do not…think…you..incapable,” he said, “For once, I’d like to be the hero. Or at least pretend to be. You’re…always…saving…me.”

I really appreciated the women’s rights that were shown throughout this book. Audrey, as well as other characters, are adamant about being treated fairly, and I really liked that. I don’t know the accuracy of women’s rights in that time or place, but it didn’t stand out in a bad way.

If you liked the first book, I think this one is worth reading as well! If you haven’t read the first book, go read it!

For those of you who have read this book, what did you think? Was Thomas as swoon-worthy as last time?
