Cruel Prince Review

I started this book when it first came out but had to put it down because I didn’t have the time. I always planned to come back to it though. It was totally worth it.

I am a big fan of Holly Black. She writes incredible fairy books. This was no disappointment.

The main character, Jude, is strong, flawed, and so human in her desires. She is definitely one of my favorite female protagonists I’ve ever read. She has lofty goals, a mortal heart, and a wicked mind. You’re going to love her.

This book has so many twists and turns. Black kept me guessing the whole book, but I rarely guessed right. She knows how to keep a reader on her toes. There’s plenty of mystery, action, school tension, family issues, possible love, and Fae drama that makes everything else so much more interesting.

I don’t want to say much about any of the other characters because I refuse to give away any spoilers. Let me just say that this is an incredible book, and I am ecstatic for the next book to come out.
