You can check out my review of the first book, Aurora Rising, here!
As the title suggests, this book played with my emotions in a way that I knew was going to happen but still hurt none the less.
We got so much more Kal in this book, for which I am so thankful. However, I realize that Finian and Tyler might be my favorite characters, which I would not have seen coming. Finian is hysterical and sweet, although he tries to hide that. I also think his species/race is so interesting, and I wish we would see more of them.
Tyler, in this book, was much less focused on being perfect and following on the rules, which I think made me like him more. He also is much funnier than I remember him being in the first book. He’s an incredible leader, he’s an optimist, and he’s going to have an impressive character arc, so I can’t wait to read more.
The plot in this book took me very much by surprise. I do not want to give anything away, so I’m not going to get into any details. But twists, turns, and lots of wits. Oh, and HEARTBREAK, but you’ll just have to read that for yourself, and you know it’s coming since Kaufman and Kristoff love to break our hearts.
This was a great sequel to one of my favorite books I read last year. I know I’m going to be bouncing in my seat in anticipation of the next book.
Have you read this yet? Will you cry with me in the comments?
