Hello friends!
The Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary Awards is looking for bloggers who review children’s and/or young adult literature! I’ve been a panelist for two years for young adult fiction and speculative fiction and it’s been a great experience! I get to read so many more books that I wouldn’t naturally come across. It allows me to push myself as a reader and to encourage others to read great books from the past year!
Their applications for panelists and judges opens next week and I would encourage you to apply! They are especially looking for more readers from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color intersectional communities to be panelists and judges this year (and of course here on out). So, if you are a member of one or more of those communities I EXTRA recommend applying!
I’ll be honest that the panelist position involves a LOT of reading, but it’s exciting and there are ways to manage your time well. I haven’t been a judge, but I have heard it’s a different kind of intense reading. You can read up about the different positions and time commitment on their website. You can also ask me questions and I’m happy to attempt to answer the best I can!
