So I was nominated by the wonderful Painfully Fictional for the Unique Blogger Award!
Here are the Rules of this award:
- Share the link to the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
- Answer the questions.
- In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
- Ask them three questions.
Question #1: What’s a book or a series you’d want everyone to read?
Definitely The Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale. They are fairy tales reimagined and I loved them as a young girl, and they are some of the only books I will continually reread. Also, these are new covers and I love them!
Question #2: Do you have a reading-related pet peeve?
So I’m not sure that this counts as a pet peeve per say, but when people whisper around me when I read it drives me crazy. I can tune out a super loud room when I read, but when someone whispers I don’t know what it is about my brain but IT HAS TO KNOW what that person is saying. My family discovered this pet peeve and use it to bother me. Talk as loud as you want while I read. But NO whispering.
Question #3: What’s a popular book you hate?
So I may anger or upset some people, but The Great Gatsby just didn’t do it for me. Before you erupt with righteous literary anger, I appreciate the symbolism of it and all the metaphors and messages. BUT everything about it crushes dreams and the ending is so dissatisfactory. I appreciate it for the literary work it is, but I just didn’t like it.
I want to thank Painfully Fictional again for nominating me and giving me such wonderful questions! Go check out her blog!
Congrats on having been nominated, and thanks for nominating my blog! Great answers. I hate people whisper also. It can either be very loud or dead silent. That awkward in between bothers me so much. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one!
